Many Thanks to Billy and Mel for getting this off the ground and for PUB's understanding that we can now legally flyfish and promote flyfishing in freshwaters.. starting at Springleaf ( waterbodies elsewhere will have to wait for restorations and proper management... 'akan datang' ). The new GARS is an official society that will be promoting environmentally friendly waterbody usage ( like fishing, aquatic study/research/water activity site management activities)and other restoration initiatives while clubs like FFC, societies like Nature Society or even FK can organize restoration/research/C&R fishing activities in restored waters. GARS is NOT a fishing club and is only dedicated to restoration and promotion of waters as many do not realize that C&R fishing and many activities actually save our waters and are really eco-friendly in approach. All are welcome to contribute to saving and enlivening our waters! We have started the ball rolling and it's now up to everyone to promote this effort. Cheers CY

For those who take the MRT and stop at Yishun or Yio Chu Kang station, take bus 851, 852 or 853 and drop when you can see the Lower Seletar Reservoir.
Walk along the canal on jogging path to the Nee Soon Road bridge.
We'll be under the big trees.

Thank you Guys for all who turned up! The blogspace have switched to fishrespectprotect.blogspot.com . We will look to expand this campaign in this very near future as a build up to our coming working negotiations with PUB and NParks, so this will act as the proof of concept that we can work and produce results in the outreach. What we aim to do: 1) Let the residents see that having FFC/SFAS/GARS members makes their water ways better/less inconsiderate anglers. 2) Educate and consistently have a prescence in those waters to show up and coming anglers the environmentally sound fishing practices 3)Build up support and manpower for all 3 societies. We need as much clout as we can get as more clout = more ears in these govt agencies. Regards, TY Tan
