Thank goodness that I actually browse through the junk before it gets its role in the Trash Can. Straight away, I registered to show my support. Oh no. Those poppers are not made by me. I got them in a junk yard sales. Whoever is interested in getting some, pls let me know. Special price for members here. Ok, regarding tying poppers. I learnt quite many tricks today in Coho. This tier calls Shawn West is in town now and he generously showed and tipped us on tying those deer hair bass bugs. Wonderful time spent there and thks to my wife for tolerating me a full hour more to see him finished the last fly of the day while she tried to understand my hobby abit. Shawn just might be there tomorrow again, meaning 19/03/2005. Guys, try to catch him if you have time to spare. A very humble and very nice guy. I bet you will surely learn a few tricks from him. I was tying such flies lately and his demostration answered alot of my questions. Ok, regarding fly tying materials. Many seniors would not mind the price for the material locally but listen up, it is even more expensive to get deer hair in USA where the source is. (Except during road shows, tying material can be dirt cheap!!! My buck tails that I accquired are like $3.00 USD when I was in USA including courier. Unless you know where to get them direct, it would be even cheaper. Slaughter house if you know where. ) And this guy tells us that Singapore has cheaper tying material as compared to many fly shops in USA!!! I think we better treasure what we have here in Singapore. Coho is like a gem, I bet. While we were all marvelling at Shawn's skill, we were hoping that Qwek would pop by too as there's a tool that Shawn uses, you can get it too but not many here. Oh well... you just didnt appear... I was hoping to meet you in person too. I bet they are refering to you, correct me if I am wrong. Regarding my blog... it is like a personal dairy, and fishing is the main ingredient. Please forgive me if you are wasting your precious time reading some of my rubbish and some hideous creation. I am just doing it to track my progress in fishing, flyfishing especially (including fly tying too). I am glad it is interesting to some... hahaha. Billy, you made my day. Do leave a few footprints by tagging my shoutbox, it will be greatly appreciated. Enough said, I hope I could have a few catch reports up soon before I am tied down again. It's great, even better when many could gather here with common interests and treat each other upright maturely. This is like a fellowship and not flaming ground. Let this forum be a role model of local forums!!! Agree? YEAH MAN!!!

WOW! What a pleasant site to be in and so many familiar names already left their marks here.
Billy, I take my cowboy hat off for you for letting it flare until it mature. You can count on me waving the flag in the back row eventhough you may not find my postings that frequent.

Hope this forum can continue until the youngsters like Nick, Guo Rong, Lim and some of the younger fly fishermen can take over. Then I can sit at the back row with you to wave the flags too.

Wow! Just like a class reunion! MTK, nice to see you here too! MIB a.k.a. Man-In-Britian, hello yourself. ;D ;D ;D. Alamak, I meant MTS as in mtshark. Sorry Edward. Hope to catch Shawn this Saturday, I think the tool you are referring to is the cautery cutter, a battery powered hot-tipped cutter that is used in plastic surgery. It is sold for flytying also, but at US$25 it very ex. I have my own supply of discarded cutters, sometime new but no longer sterilized. I used this cutter to "seal" spun hair to keep the fly watertight. By running the heated cutter across the surface, it scorched the hair tips and fused them together. I also used this together with the wing cutter template instead of open-flame. Mono-eyes can be created with this tool too. Onegai shimasu ;D Cheers Qwek

... just received a stern warning from the Fartherater not to peddle weed here... Chee Sus........Chee Yung !!! ;D I never WARN you NOT to peddle reed in here laaaaaaa I was just sharing an incident with you - when my son asked me for another GameBoy game, after I've gotten him the latest one just days before - and I sternly, had a go at him for the stack of games that he hardly play with ( nor cherish ) - till I turn round and saw the array of plastic sticks on my rod rack - and suddenly I felt so selfish and ashamed of myself Do you not remember that before you became the bamboo poison pusher - you were the cryptic messenger ( you still are, btw ;D ), but even PRIOR to that - you were my psychiatrist for PRIORITIES and discipline ?!!!! And it was that last role that prompted me to ring you to seek help. after that ' child abuse ' incident Hope you'll be pleased to know that it's more games for my son and no more fly rods for me......er, after the FLi la ( and the same applies to fly reels too ) Thanks for the cure Lets just go catch a fish with whatever we've got ( even if it's a tree branch ) And please - feel free to peddle whatever legal substance, you may wish - in this free forum ;D
