Ehhhhhhhhhh.......... mtshark, my friend look at the bone and asked me, if it look like the finger of a human bone. You're sure its chicken bone? Hey BT, My family asked the same thing too. Too bad that the bone has been thrown away. I left it where I last took the photo and went back the next day to see if it is still there, GONE! I am sure that it is a drumlet bone and not a human bone. Nick and I saw it and we have the same answer too. Looking at the picture, it sure makes some goosebums... I should have kept that bone and frame it up... My relative think that the bone belongs to some victims of the late tsunami... eeks!

Hello everyone, Nothing much for now till June as for me, I am undergoing a rehab project for my ankle. A major op tomorrow morning and so, I could not be fishing around for at least 2-3 months ahead. Thank you for the support in my section here and in my thread too, greatly appreciated. I hope I would recover soon and continue to bring in more exciting photos about my catches. ;D Meanwhile, I hope you all could do the same too. Pour in as many catch reports as possible into this new great forum, fresh water or saltwater or catches not on fly, just post it and we will all love it too. "I'LL BE BACK." Of course, while I am confined to my quarters, I will continue to stay tune to this forum daily and make other forms of contribution. Good job everyone!

MTS, I paid a visit to the johnsons today.... they were there alright..., but it seems like new residents have moved in as well.... a pair of sea-urchins have made their home on the shallow side wall.... their spines sometimes stick out of the water very near the edge, so watch where you step when u're back in action over there. A couple of juveniles belonging to the scorpionfish family (i think) also found small charlies appetizing.... they're about the same size as the johnsons so it'll be good to take a good look at the critter before you handle it.....

Hey Xman, Thks for the tips. I have seen those sea urchins before and guess what, a few guys took them home for their salty tank at home. Soon, they will be gone too. Regarding the scorpion fish, I had bad experience about it. My dad's friend died because he stepped on one and he was allergic to its posion. He died shortly in the hopsital. What a sad thing. Just before I went for my big op, my friend caught one with live prawn at the same place. He aint sure about it and dare not touch. His friend said that it is a baby grouper. I arrived just in time to prevent an accident. I told him that this is a scorpion fish and shouldnt be handle with bare hands. Just in time. This was the fish which my dear friend's pal almost handled with bare hands. Thank you once again for the reminder. I might just get carried away when I am able to fish again. I think I will start a new thread in my salty section about posionous reef fish to look out for during fishing. I wanted to do this for sometimes but just didnt do it yet. I hope by providing such information, it would greatly reduce the cause of accident during angling. It is really warm to see friend here advicing each other about dangers lurking in our fish holes. A gentle reminder might just help prevent an accident and saves a life. Xman, thks for rekindling my fire to start this thread. I will see to it soon. mtshark's out

This thread is getting so cold... soon, one more week to my next med review. Hopefully, I am allowed to stand on my two feet again and do some walking. It is almost 2 months now since I last walked without crutches. My right calf now has shrunk so much that I think I need to wear long pants when I go anywhere. ;D To warm up this thread before I could go do some salty stuff after the review. Here's a flathead on a red/white clouser, 20041017, at Changi. By the way, I will be out of the salt again as I need to send my Scott STS 6wt back to Scott for repair. The sleeves cracked!!! *sobsob* High chance I will get a replacement instead... I love this rod so much!!!

Today, I went out to the salt and hoping to get lucky. ;D Upon reaching the destination, I saw a boatman beached his fibreglass craft in the shallow. In his craft, he was going through his drift net and almost every now and then, you could hear him throwing a fish into his pails or into the water... In the not so far horizon, I saw a few more markers (empty plastic bottles)... my heart sank... After an hour of fishing, nothing at all. No signs of life and lots of dead fish floating around... the boatman discarded the unwanted fish into the sea and most of them were actually drowned in the drift net. Too make me feel even more is seeing a dead queenie, lying motionless on the sand... another discarded by the boatman... Soon, the boatman was out again reeling in his catches from other drift nets. I couldnt bear to look. While we had packed and were making a move, I heard some loud banging noise. I turned my head around and I saw the boatman was weilding a baton in the air. The victim was a catfish. I tried not to look and moved on... "Bang bang bang..." My neck hurt from the sun burnt when I turned my head around. I saw another cat suffered the same fate as the previous. To my dismay, the catfish was dumped instead of becoming a keep... [glow=red,2,300]"WHY CANT HE JUST LET THEM GO ALIVE!!!??"[/glow] For a moment, hatred and anger filled my mind. All kinds of evil thoughts flashed by... We left in peace... When I got home, I felt very disturbed by that 'murderous' act... that scene kept flashing in my mind... I had caught a pretty decent catfish in this area before and now I think it just might not be swimming around anymore. It just might have a cracked skull too... [glow=red,2,300]"Drift net is not evil, but the user ..."[/glow]

I went fishing for talang but in a talang net. I was invited to stay over at a fish farm for the wkend. The owner was very kind as he allowed me to fish his fish in his nets! Of course for a reason. He wanted talang for lunch and so he asked us to 'help'. Of course, I did it willingly and I really had some fun with them. To my surprise, talang tasted really good, seriously. I never knew talang would taste this good especially when it is a 'farmed chicken'. The fish in the pic was consumed for lunch.
