Hi, I'm new to this forum. I'm from Sydney Australia, and most of my fly fishing is in the salt - in Sydney and across Northern Australia. I also do a bit trout in the NSW Snowy Mountains.
A friend of mine is travelling to Thailand late this month and has organised a couple of days at Cheow lan Lake (I hope I've got name and spelling right)
He hopes to catch snakehead, mahseer and others. He has been advised to take a 6 weight outfit. I reckon he should take a 8 or 9 weight outfit as well.
Can anyone offer any advice as to how he can be best prepared for such a trip.
What flies should he start buying/tying? What lines are most effective? Length and strength of leader etc? Are there any species of trout available?
Thank you for help.
Cheers,
Peter.
