Kingfisher Lake, Greenfields Hua Hin didnot open to the public as planned on the 1st May, however as I had booked a days fishing there I was allowed to fish. I started with a #7 weight rod and a sinking line.Target species catfish and snakehead. Within five minutes I had a take which turned out to be a Barramundi of about 2Kg. Nice fish, fin perfect and very strong. After another ten minutes had another take which was clearly much bigger, 100plus mtres of line out before the fish stopped and a twnety minute battle followed. Eventually landed this nice Amazon red tail. Changed to a #4 rod and a floating line to target the Arawana and Java, Jungle barb and Talapia surface feeding. Dry fly, a parachute adams #16 barbless. Hooked and lost two Arawana, jump after jump then landed two Talapia and a Java Barb. Stopped fishing at lunchtime as it was so hot 38C.
