There are not too many fly fishermen in Singapore.
Then, most won't bother with computers, and even more won't bother with forums.
So that leave us with less fly fishermen who will take the trouble to go into a forum to read. We already have good fly fishermen who support us by taking off from their valuable time to register with the forum. Browse the forum and gave feedbacks. Post catch reports, jokes and interesting posts.
The fly fishing community here is really so small. If we can have 30 members, I would consider it a success.
Then it is up to us to keep the forum interesting and informative to keep these hard core supporters coming back everyday, and hopefully pull in those who have not register with us.
Can we hit the target of 30 members? I think so.

Fellas, you fly fisherpeople in Singapore are limited in number, yet you send your sons to Australia to study and get taught bad habits by us in Oz ;D When I was in Sg I was shown the passion at Dr Edwards, brilliant service and friendship by Henry and Michael at Coho and the best of international relations by both Jimboz and Huns. You are in an international travel destination or stopover and I know many fellow flyfishermen would gladly break their trip with a visit to Dr Edwards or Coho or similar or get a taste of chasing Rangers ;D , but when asked by an international pilot, who will soon be again flying the Singapore route, "Where did you get your gear when in Singapore?" It tells me that you are relatively unknown. That brings me back to the first statement and the biblical expression "Send forth your sons and multiply" - let the students be ambassadors for you and spread the word of your fledging sport in your country, on flyfishing forums that they join and the flyfishers they meet. Travel the world yourself by the Internet and enter discussions on flyfishing forums internationally and introduce visitors to your domain. It took me some time to track down your website when I was seaching for flyfishing information before I came to Sg en-route to Europe, but I was glad I did - my home playground is SydneyAngler.com.au.... flyfishingsg.proboards38.com does not jump out at you as being a Sg site whereas Singaporeflyfishing.com does. Just a couple of thoughts!

Hi Bluecod,
Thanks for the suggestion, I know "http://flyfishingsg.proboards38.com" is quite a mouthfull. To maintain a commercial webby do require constant funding, which we hope to address in near the future. Billy have put in a lot of effort to get this forum up and running and we are very glad that he allow us to keep the forum going.
We are blessed to have members from all over the world like yourself joining us in this forum and also coming all the way to Singapore to amke friends and wet a line together. We hope to have contribution from you and other to keep the forrum going.
Hope to see you again in Singapore soon.
Cheers

Thanks Qwek, I hope to get back there before too long and buy much stock from Michael and Henry ;D and catch up with a couple of individuals I was not aware that Billy provides the backdrop for your site - he has done a very good job and his support is very much appreciated. The site I am involved in here in Sydney pays for its webhosting through sponsorship - its non-profit so the sponsors get a good deal through cheap on-site advertising and there is often some money left over to hold a social fishing event and put on a BBQ with steaks and sausages for the members. The sponsors also provide prizes for "events" we run throughout the year - not big time but a mid-range rod and reel for the winner and a few handouts for the junior members who attend the BBQ. Its almost time for the Australian salmon to put in the annual appearance so if I can not get time to fish for them I am sure that either AgentX or his partner in crime B will put up a post of their successful exploits. Cheers, George

Hi George,
The salmon are coming in? I got to start looking out for then around here too..
I think Agent X is now in Hong Kong, so he's going to miss the salmon.
Yeah, I've been trying to put in some catch reports as well.. but with winter coming in, the fishing has definitely slowed down a little..
Regards, Matthew
