Hi Folks,
Just got back from a fly-fishing expedition. This invitation was from a golf club in the West and was arranged by your local friendly tackle shop, our fly-fishing enchik and a prominent golfing member of that club, who is also an avid fly fisherman. This two days fly-fishing/tying and talks was to introduce this gentlemen’s sport to the club’s members.
The Club hopes to launch this fly-fishing only as an additional recreation for its club members who are also keen fishermen/women who have fly-fish or try it overseas. We will be back to provide a hand-on for those members who are interested to pick up fly-fishing. Whether fly-fishing will be allowed in the future at this Club will depend on the coming Club annual general meeting. Some of the guidelines were proposed to the club for consideration:
Normal Club rules apply here for guest’s invitation that is two guests only. Proper attires must be observed and no T-shirts and street shoes or flip-flops are allowed. Only eight fishermen are allowed to fish at one time at one hole and no more than ten are allowed at each hole.
Fishing to be confined to the Lake Course only to the ponds within the last two holes. We were not allowed to fish in the lake itself. The course marshals recommended the fishing period from daybreak till 9.00am or when the first golfer(s) arrived at those holes. We were briefed by the marshals on course etiquette and safety. Only fly-fishing is allow and no back casts to be made over the greens.
To preserve the well being of the fishes in the pond, all hooks must be debarded and no droppers are allowed. The fishes we caught or saw are Peacock Bass, Lampans, haruans, carps, climbing perch and Tarpons!
Here are some of the pixs of the flyfishing round at that golf club:
With the club member who made this happened.
