Last Saturday, was for me to try out the furled leader, I constructed a 5footer using 8lbs mono in a 5/3/2 pegs combination that mean each furled has two legs of 5 turns of 6lbs mono each that make it a total of 120 lbs at the butt section. WOW! The furled leader is connected to a 30lbs twisted leader of 30lbs in length both the mid and the bite tippet is tied off with an Orvis knot. The loop end is finished with a short loop giving both the furled and twisted leaders a better transition. In the two hours sessions I only had a bitten off tippet and a damaged hook. The leader held it ground when the fish tried to burst off. Cheers Qwek Hi Guys, Last Sat, we had another session with Dr Edward's therapists. Q pass me a couple of his furled leader to try. It made a world of difference. With a 2.5' of 30 lbs fluorocarbon tippet, the butt end was stiff enough to turn over large heavy files and the cushioning effort of the furled leader protected the tippet when the fish took off in its surging runs. Once again, the explosive action at the clinic ended up with reels with drags busted, rods broken at the butt and knuckles rapped by reel handles. Here are some of the highlights... The battle, the submission and the victory The Silver torpedo called Milkfish. Hanging on to a fully loaded saltwater #8 rod and the first time I manage to land one of these gangsters for a photo ;D ;D I think there is too much sodium in my diet ... regards Alberto
