Today I followed a couple of guys from the local tackle shop to Morton. We ended up fishing at Ling Mere fishery...
We arrived at about 745am set up our stuff and tried out the match lake. I was on pellets but had no bites for like 2 hrs. During then, the winds were howling, rain were pounding on my brolly.
I decided I had enuff and packed up and went over to the leisure lake and I manage to find a nice little spot which is quite sheltered from wind and the water was calm.
I was then greeted by this fellow.
It was a very nice sight to see them just cruising and coming up. So I set up my gear again and started my fishing..
Just into about 10mins, my float dipped under the water. I lifted the 11mpole and and the hook was set. I could feel that it was a huge fish as even on a medium bi-core elastic the weight on the other end was slowly going and not stopping.. Then the hook came off.. Urgh..
20mins after, I hooked into a nice mirror carp which I had a fun time playing it then at the very end it rushed into the bushes and got me entangled by someone elses line that was stucked there.. 2 time unlucky  Thinking that today might be the very first day which I blanked while coarse fishing...
A short while later my 2 friends decided to move over to the leisure lake as well .. as it was too windy for them to handle. In the next 1 and 1/2 hours I manage to get, 2 mirrors, 2 carps and a small little tench.. And lost another 1 more.
Overall I guess it would have been a much better day if it wasn't for the rain and wind.. But thank god we all had brollys to keep us dry..
Hoping to go back there soon when the forecast says it's going to be sunny.
Cheers
Mathew
