Hi Guys, Bottom Bashing is something I have not done for a long time since I started fly fishing. So at the end of March, some of my office colleague asked me to join them for a day session around Changi and Tekong. Feeling itchy for a new toy to be used on this trip, I purchase a Daiwa Caldia Kix with the RealFour engine. Even though it made in Thailand, this is one sweet reel paired with an old Shimano InnerLine rod rated at 6~14 lbs. The morning started well for my friends and was very quite for me till after lunch (the time on my watch is bout 1.40pm) ... ... when this 1kg+ group wanted to have his lunch of live prawn as well ;D Next on the list is a nice "Gu Hood" ... which is fiarly large compared to the ones that I use to catch After a lull period, we hit a patch of Ang Kueys... ... and the highlight for day - a lovely Fingermark snapper. Just before we call it a day to head back for shore, my rod bent over and the drag screamed for mercy . A Fingermark snapper that put up a great fight for almost 10 minutes. The reel's drag put up a flawless performance and the rod's backbone made sure that the snapper stayed away from the coral bed at the bottom. At the end of the day, its was a good trip for me before I dissappear to Shanghai the following morning. Cheers Alberto
