Hey
I just tied a bread fly using cotton wool (no money to buy proper materials). It looks good, but the only problem is that it sinks....any ideas on how to make it float or do i have to use other materials.
Thanks

sorry fosey, cotton are suppose to absorb water fast and it would sink when its fully absorbed. I think you will have to look for other alternatives. Maybe you might want to try real bread and put some wax to it! ;D ;D ;D

Unless you intend to use a lot of floatant I don't think its gonna work....the cotton wool is gonna get soak no matter what and it will sinks like the Titanic.... Even for normal dry flies with floatant it will still go under the water after some time on the water and you need to reapply the floatant again. Why don't you try using foam, either the closed cell or the normal ones see which one you can get your hands on...or go to the market and pick up some white stryofoam boxes then you will have a lot of bread flies...kekeke ;D have fun trouty
