Bonjour Pascal, Welcome to our forum.
When you are at Coho, talk to Henry Lau, he should be able to help you. There are no guides like you find in Europe and other parts of the world. What usually happens is that you walk in to Coho, chat the fishermen up and hopefully join up with them for a trip to the local waters.
How long are you staying in Singapore? I'm going off for a short fly fishing trip to Bangkok. I'm leaving on 27 Dec and back on the 31 Dec. If you are still around on 1 ~3 Jan, we can arrange to fish together on the local waters. I have a friend from Korea who is here on holidays and we are fishing together on the 1 Dec morning. You are most welcome to join us.
With regards to tackle, if you are fishing local waters, your TXL will be sufficient. If it get windy, then #3 will be more suitable if you have one.
You can either send me a PM or call my mobile +6596910182.
regards Alberto
By the way, which part of France are you from? I go to Paris and have a office/factory located in Rambouillet and I visit it once a year for work.

HI Alberto , thanks for such a quick and very kind answer : not wanting to show the fool in me I ommitted to write that i am one of the pilots ( first officer ) flying Air France flight 256 to Sin leaving CDG the 27 th : wich means i ll have one full day only in your country so I couldnt join you by year's end but thank you so much for the offer . Anyway i plan to drop at Coho , just because i visit every fly shop i can in all the countries i go ; i ll probably take some gear , just in case . Are ther locally made tying materials that you would specially recommend to me to look for at Coho ? When you come to Paris notify me via mail , i ll manage to help or take you fishing : i live close to Compiègne , 1h north of Paris , 35 min north of CDG airport : a region of flat fields ,so fly fishing trout close is tough : i have a very narrow chalk stream where my 7' TXL#0 already seems a big stick , but the fishing is more stalking very selective rainbows and browns in the 15". I also go more west between Beauvais and Rouen on a larger river with usually more action .There are lots of places in France to fly fish but most need to take a fast train or plane . Do you know that there is a show in Paris called Salon international des pêches sportives , from february 9th to 11th , located in Paris downtwn at show center of " Porte de Versailles " ? www.salondespechesportives.com/ All casting ways of fishing , travel agencies , guides , flyshops , materials providers ,famous local & foreign tyers etc ... I know Rambouillet , i go there each year for the big game hunting shows that takes place on the horse race track .its 2 hrs from my place . See you with great pleasure some day , Pascal .

Dear Pascal, Its unfortunate that we are unable to meet but since you are flying with Air France, I'm sure that there will be ample opportunity to meet up and fish together in Singapore. We might have seen each other as I fly AF 256 back to Singapore from CGD ;D
What we have in Singapore are mostly imported from other countries. There is not any locally produced Fly fishing stuff. But some of the fly tying materials are cheaper then in Europe.
One of my colleagues is suppose to take me fly fishing at a place called Le Moulin de Gemages. It a stock pond and I'm seen some huge rainbows and brown trout that he caught from that place.
I'm due to travel to Paris at the end of Jan or early February next year. If I can make it at that date of show that would be fantastic. I hope that I can meet up with you.
In the mean time, Bon voyage for your trip to Singapore and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. Do keep in touch on when you are flying back to Singapore.
regards Alberto
