Hello Friends, I was given this link to view as to how some fur came about. The cruelty & suffering of the animals are very disturbing & uncalled for. We should at least: - Learn the source of our natural fur/hair products, that the animals are killed & not suffer for our sport. - Use artificial whenever possible. .. .. i have a suspicious patch of artic fox fur which now serves to remind me of how too many animals suffered. A simple plea. Please share this. Video clip on animal cruelty.Peeling skins off alive for its fur. (16Mb) my.so-net.net.tw/sirwang/fur.wmv Remember this video the next time u see fur products on sale. ~ If the buying stop, so will the killing ~ more can be found here www.east.org.tw/-Gilbert

Hi Gilbert, Sometime back I was fishing at Marina South in the afternoon, a squeaky clean, well dressed couple came up to me. Though they were going to chew me up for me fishing there, but the dorky guy gave me a phamlet on animal abuse. They raved about the works of PETA, how we should not encourage animal abuse and that fishing is an unnecessary evil. I reeled in my line and handed back the phamlet to them and asked how many trees did they chopped down to print that phamlet. They replied that it's necessary. I then ask the dorky one (mind you they were dressed in their Sunday best) which cow had to died to produce that pair of leather shoes he was wearing? He replied, "ehh..." I then asked the girl if she was wearing contact lenses, she said yes. I asked her if she knew that thousands of chicken, monkeys and rabbits had to suffered for days with a contact glued onto one of it eye so researchers can determined that the contact len is safe for human use. She blinked rapidly, probably trying to dislodge the contact lenses from her eyes. I then stepped closer and sniffed the perfume that she had on her. I ask her if she knew that for every one carton of perfumes produced, one whale had to die so that it livers can be processed to produce perfume. She took a step back and wave the phamlets in her hand like crazy. I then asked if she knew how lipstick is being made, she shouted "NO! I don't want to know" and pulled her dorky boyfriend and marched off. I don't know how lipstick was made either. So, Gilbert where did our flytying materials come from? I'm not sure, I don't have the answer for that one. But i do know that most of the animals used to produce the materials are farm-raised. How was your chicken burger processed? Do we look the other way? How do we tell which end products or by-products come from these sources as shown in the videos. Are these filming geniune or are they staged for gullible audiences. This subject was once raised by an FK kaki, who did not denied or confirmed that he was a PETA activitist. I engaged him in a debate about animal abuse and PETA roles and he took it as a personal attack. Gilbert, there is such an award for this. Do you like to have the honour of being the second receipient. The next fried chicken meal is on you. ;D ;D ;D Cheers Qwek

Hi bro Qwek, thanks for sharing how many of our daily products came about...(some lipsticks use animal urethra i think ..while many rabbits suffered eyes damage for the hair shampoo we use) Its a personal choice of products, food one uses or eat, i do fishing, & i won't deny there's cruelty in this primal hunt which we console ourselves today by calling it a sport. the simplicity of quickly killing & respecting the animal instead of putting it through much suffering for human "needs" isn't much to ask right? No glory or awards for such shared postings, if the message is not shared in vain would be rewards itself. No debates also, info & knowledge sharing will be great. Fried chicken??.. Geez.. suddenly the SM roti-prata seems like a more attractive option.. & i now wonder what went into the piece of luncheon meat i had during breakfast.. TGIF

perhaps we can remind those Hippies that PETA could also stand for People Eating Tasty Animals.
overseas, these groups have caused alot of damage and restricted many forms of fishing and hunting. We cannot let them get a foothold here in Singapore. They have also been involved in several "millitant" terrorist activities against food processing plants etc and even shot hunters. Perhaps we can clean them up with the internal security act?

My fellow bros, the video that at shown is in China and the ppl the skinned the animals alive are poor ppl that lives in the country and dun understand cruelty. All they know is their livelyhood. The reason the animals are skinned alive is to avoid damage to the fur as to be sold as fur coats. But the fur materials tat are sold to us are mostly kills of hunting seasons in USA and Europe where the meat are eaten and fur process to be sold to be fly materials. At least this died in a fast not like those that are skinned alive and live to die suffering. I have sent the video clips to ASPACA Eforcement but they aske to to forward to WSPACA and their reply was they are looking into it but they cannot do anything.

Hi Fooddha, I'm afraid they are already here, there even some masquerading as fishermen. Hopefully none among our ranks. The truth about PETA, here are some interesting sites about them. Wonder if they like the table turned on them... www.peoplekillinganimals.com/antipeta.htmwww.anti-peta.com/www.peta-sucks.com/Here a FBI Congressional report about them: www.fbi.gov/congress/congress01/freeh051001.htmEver see some of their ad campaign, here's one of my favourite; “ Drink beer not milk”. This is because they feel that milk cows are mistreated. www.geocities.com/killeremtb/peta.htmI'm not for cruelty to animals, I support SPCA. But we have to draw a line somewhere, this is fishing and it's a blood sport. If we are not to co-exist with animals and plants at all, then why are we here? Why do we exist? Why do we eat vegetables at the expense of the snails and other creatures who are killed to protect the crops for the vegans? Who invented flyfishing? The next beer's on me... Cheers Qwek
