Its rather sad.... we are just a band of fisherman who pursue the beautiful fine art of flyfishing where you can relax and enjoy the nature in our own Country, not harming anything or anyone.. yet we have to endure so much obstacles ahead of us. My fello flyfishios...., I am sure if we don't give up, we will have our dreams come true one day!

Hi Billy,
My opinion, this forum has no place for religion or race topic for debate or discussion............... don't want ISA coming knocking at our doors!

........... the White Papers which Tan Yik had written is "taking on the authorities". Wow! I see that things got heated up while I was chilling out up North! Even the Mighty One and Superman got involved! Anyway, my view had always been that unanimity is neither possible nor desirable. I’ll defend anyone’s right to disagree on any issue. But more importantly, one must state the reasons and objective grounds behind one's disagreement. Was there any specific mention that which part of the Paper actually try to "taking on the authorities"? This is a serious point and I think if there is any merit in the allegation we should be careful to weed it out. On the other hand, if there is no gound on the allegation, at least we had convinced ourselves that we had exercised due delligence to make our argument more balanced. Singapore Youths will benefit from the efforts put in by Tan Yik and the rest of the seniors. Thanks for the complementary tag of "senior" but like I had always felt, neither the Peacock Bass nor the Tilapia knows or cares whether the fellow casting the fly is a "senior" or "junior" or if he is a "pioneer" or "new bird"...... lets drop the tag and take each other for their own merits! Contribution should not be restricted to "seniors" or "pioneers" only.

Hi Tan Yik,
Yes it has turn out to be a "hot" issue during your absence. Nevertheless, our intention is good for the fishing community, not only the fly fisherman. Last check with MB at Coho, the number of signatures is only about 40.
May I suggest that we also let more fisho know about our proposal esp. the lurers. Suggest that maybe Billy to talk to John Looi of FK to allow us to have a "sticky" for this clause. We need to gather more fishos and understand the need for this proposal. I am sure many will agree that no one wants to fish in fear.

These words will put the rumour mongers at bay. Hopefully correct the wrong impressions created by the sabotage attempts.

I had just PM John Hooi for his assistance to put the White Paper on the sticky. Also requested for his help to get more fishingkakis to sign the papers. Wait for the good news.

Hi Folks, I have read the white paper and signed it the first day it was at Coho.
I'm must be getting senile because I do not remember which part of the "white paper" did people deemed it to be "taking on the authorities"?
Like Billy has mentioned, our Ministers have challenged us, citizens of Singapore, to provide feedback to them. Please forgive me if I'm wrong, but the government and our Ministers has been voted by us, the citizens of Singapore to serve the country and its people.
We have made suggestions via the paper on how we can achieve this goal of opening our precious water resources for fishing and the resources to manage it well.
Is it asking too much that we share, use and maintain what rightfully belongs every citizen of this small nation called Singapore?
I have been fishing since I was 10 years old, and through these years, I have never experience such warmth and friendship of sharing and teaching as I have found among fly fishermen that I have known. You all have thought me how to cast a line when I was whipping my rod around like a idiot. You all have given me flies to fill my box when it was bare. You all brought me fishing when I caught no fish on my own. I hope that its with these same values, we can stand together to make our dream a reality.
warm regards Alberto
