I have traded emails with Fred privately and we thought this is another channel we can voice our opinions. From a flyangler point of view, I think the suggestion should focus on Billy's message to MP to drive the point home. Of course, any extras like wooing tourism dollar and graciousness of flyfishing etc...can be added to strengthen the case.

I believe we can talk to the MPs about the peacock bass in our reserviors: How it is a fish that is attracting many anglers into amazon to catch them.
In Florida, the government introduced peacock bass into their river system and this scheme attracted some anglers to travel to florida to fish for them instead of going to the Amazon.
We can say that if we are able to set apart one reservoir or a large stretch of water to create a healthy population of good size peacock bass with proper management, it is possible to lure tourists who are coming to singapore for holidays to fish for the peacock bass. We have seen many tourists coming over here and wanting to try out flyfishing in Singapore. It is also possible to attract those tourists on transit over singapore to stay for a few days to fish for the peacock bass. All we need then is to create an awareness that Singapore has good size peacock bass, and having proper follow up actions subsequently.
It is then even possible to have guiding services for these tourists, creating more employment opportunities. We can talk about all the benefits arising from the tourists' visit to the fishing ground.
Of course, there would then be a need to have proper authorities for taking care of all these.
Since the government would prefer to be realistic and go into plans that can boost the economy, we might be able to have a stronger case if we focus on how this can bring about growth in the country's economy.
