Hi Billy,
IMHO, fly fishing in Singapore is not just about Peacocks, PUB legal area & Freshwater only. No fly fishing within the reservoirs…. there are much more than you can catch with the whip within our coastal waters too.
In fact I started fly fishing off the coastal backwaters for Groupers, Tarpons & Herrings before going deeper into dry fly fishing …
What’s the point of setting up a fly fishing club & quit fly fishing ?
There are more locations in Singapore that we can smack a fly to lure a fish if we just break the paradigm of just “freshwater fly fishing & reservoirs”.
Cheer up guys. Jim.

Oh Jimmy, I forgot to mention that this poll is about whether we take the vow to stop fishing to attain a high moral value so that we can have the moral authority to tell our members not to fish illegally in fresh water reservoirs and water ways in Singapore.
Sea water and Malaysia is not included.
If you read the constitution, you get a clearer picture.

Hi Billy,
IMHO, to this new forming club, why not forget about freshwater fly fishing for the while. While give some time for the MP, PA & this new club to stablize communications, form the back bone of the new association. Then react again if the club's membership & activities stablises ?
I do really hope the formation of this club comes into past...
Cheers ~ Jim.

Counter productive. You're asking people to fish in our near dead seas. We'll end up shedding members like loose hair from an alsatian
Whether we fish in the freshwater resv or not, its really the members choice. We can tell them the consequences of it, but we shouldn't try to tell them what is right or wrong. Let them make the choice.
Should we stop fishing? That's really up to that guy holding the rod. If PUB has anything to say about us not obeying the law, we still have the alibi for it which makes sense.
Regards, TY Tan
