anyone tried the redington wayfarer and the sage launch?? which is better?? how are the actions etc?? help greatly needed and appreciated.. thanx.. btw.. looking at the 8wt or 9wt model.. Hi there, I dont think that anyone might have these wonderful rods yet as Singapore's flyfishermen population is really small. I did a search for you on the net and the outcome of their reviews... ZERO. No reviews found. Maybe I might have missed a few but it is really rare. If someone do find any, please help this gentleman/lady by posting the links or say your points. Thank you very much. Reading through some of the reviews for other rods that belong to Redington and Sage, it seems like you wouldnt go wrong if you invest in their products. Meanwhile, if I come across anyone or any news about these rods you mentioned, I would gladly post it here for your viewing. For me, if I did not touch the rod before and never cast one... I would not swipe the card yet as it might not be the ones that I like. Similarly for you, look around and if there's one that you could try it out, go for it. You will feel how the rod perform in your hands and choose the one that feel best for you. Good luck in search of your passion mate.

what about the albright A-5?? heard its better than the wayfarer.. Coho has the launch but i jus got no time to go test it.. anyone know how the launch feels>?? the 9wt one.. Some may think that Albright is better, some maybe Redington. Some maybe Sage too. I love Scott, do you? The brands go on and on. You are going to be the end user, many people may like certain things but you may just do not like that rod which everyone likes. It is your money, spend it wisely. Go do a search in the net, you will get feedbacks and reviews but the user is not you. All feedbacks and reviews are meant for reference and a guide to personnel preference. It just might not be your taste too. Like I have mentioned, if you could, kindly make time to give Coho a visit. You will get a better answer there as you could really "feel" it yourself. There are so many rods in the market, surely one will suit your taste after you go and "feel" it yourself. If you buy a rod just by listening to what other people told you, and then you realised that you do not like it, sell it away? You would not only be wasting your money but also a chance for the rod to be with someone who really loves it. Many excellent rods out there ended up in amature hands and in the end, find themselves in the second hand market... what a waste and of coz, a good chance for those who really know these rods and to get them at lower prices at excellent condition but without the lifetime warranty most of the time. Many also ended up sitting in closet and not see light for many years. If you have enough notes to light a cigar, do whatever you want. No one can stop you. If flyfishing to you is about a passion, you will definitely have time to go pick up a rod and test it yourself. If it is not, do what you think it's best. For me, I cant wait to go and pick up a Sage 00wt TXL in Coho and go test it but I cant. Why? I have a huge cast around my ankle and I need crutches. I hate it but I have to live with it meanwhile. I cant stop thinking about it everyday now, why? It is all about passion. Fishing is a passion, flyfishing is for the passionates.

Well said, mtshark.
learningtofish, look like you answer yourself in your post in the tackle review. Each flyrod is not the same as held by each caster. You just have to feel for yourself the rod action.
Different strokes for different folks! ;D ;D ;D

.....you go and "feel" it yourself. Confucius also say, " Well said, mtshark. " Because Confucius say : " Young boy who has NO TIME to "feel" own rod - should not ask people to WASTE TIME to "feel" his rod for him "They might get arrested - and then they'll have to DO TIME ;D

Ok!! some comments on the Albright A-5 7wt!
GOOD points ;D 1) 5 piece so easily portable 2) medium fast action so easily castable by many casters 3) oversized and lightweight guides- lessens weight of rod 4) amazingly lightweight. 5) Fighting butt & saltwater reel seat 6) very even epoxy finishings on guide wraps and above the grip 7) wording like the brand, is very attractivly written 8) hard case and rod sock 9) very nice cork grip and suits my hand 10) good backbone and sensitivity, better than i expected of a 5pc. 11) nice butt power.. when a casting stroke flexes the butt of the rod, the line really goes. can steer fish away from snags quite easily when fighting fish.
bad points 1) i think its a bit sluggish cuz of the many ferrules 2) no alignment dots- harder to assemble 3) does not double haul very well but still can clear a fly line( i did it) 4) cant cast big flies easily,e.g. 3/0 clousers 5) rod sock is not very soft. a bit stiff.
thats all i can think of at the moment. If anyone wanna get one can ask me for what i think and what i think of it compared to another rod i have casted. hope this "commentery" helps..
