I think it will be hard to go wrong with Orvis wonderline advantge and SA mastery series. I personally use an SA striper taper and like it very much. I heard the SA bonefish is really good too but I have yet to try it myself. I have a 6wt bonefish wonderline advantage floating. I like it alot as it shoots pretty well.
hope this helps..

Hi trouty, I am not an expert but I am just giving you some of my personal experience with fly lines. I have Cortland 444 WF / 444 Lazer DT, Cortland 555 WF , Rio Bonefish Powerflex Core WF, Royal Wulff Signature Series TT, Royal Wulff Clear intermediate TT, Royal Wulff TT, SA Quiet Taper II WF and SA Mastery Series Bonefish WF. For fresh water, I love the Royal Wulff Signature series. The line is very easy to cast and very nice to shoot. I am still a novice in casting but with the RW TT, I feel more confident. I prefer them over Cortland's anytime. The intermediate TT is also a wonderful line and I love to use it for deeper water. For Cortland, it is also pretty decent in the WF lines. I have heard of some complains and some are really critical against Cortland. Lately, my friend has accquired a Cortland 444 WF sinking line and he faced much problem with it. When I can walk again, I will go try myself and see for myself what could be the problem. I am not saying that this line is no good, but sometimes, we just have to experiment abit more to see and to know how it feels. It is always good to test a line if a problem is encountered. Two rods would be a good choice as different rods feel different with different lines. As for salt, I have only used Rio Bonefish Powerflex Core WF. This line is beautiful to cast. Sometimes, I used it in the fresh water too. As for the SA's, I have not yet tested them out but from Jimmy Aw, SA's Mastery Series lines are gems! I have also heard good comments about Orvis Wonderline. No wonder it is called "Wonderline". There are so many lines out there to choose and also, colors! Oh yes, try to keep fresh water line away from saltwater. I have never used freshwater line in saltwater before but my sifu taught me not too. Once he did not have saltie line in his reel but we went ahead to use it in Pasir Ris Pro Pond many years ago. Just for the sake of 'poisoning' me into this form of fishing. I fell in love with it immediately. Guess what, the line became sticky after like an hour of fun. It is almost impossible to cast after that. Thank goodness, after the line is cleaned and buff, just like new again. When I was in USA for work, I had a guide giving me a crash course in casting. He gave me the same tip about this too. He said some fresh water line will turn sticky and gummy in salt but some dont. "Anyway, if all lines can be used in the salt and freshwater, then manufacture will not bother to tell consumers that what line is for salt and what line is not. Get it? This is USA, people can sue you for not telling them you know?" This is what he told me. Thus, I use lines straight to the rules. New lines are always so good to cast and when the line shoots, that feeling is so good! In order to maintain the line's original performance, it is always adviceale to clean your line after each trip. This will greatly help you to prolong the life of the fly line and also its performance. If you have the time, hop by Coho Fishing Tackle, Henry would be the best man to guide you. Of course Mike and Annie too. You dont just walk into a shop as there are more than meets the eye within. The wealth of knowledge in these mentioned people are amazing. Their years of experience and passion for flyfishing have accumulated lots of experience and what's even better, they share it with you. Good luck!
