Hi Folks, Let me take you to your leader ;D ;D ;D flyforums.proboards53.com/index.cgi?board=tackletalk&action=display&thread=1113304822&page=1I learnt of this method from Henry, there's some variation to it construction, some with a bimini twist instead of the overhand knot. But after a few sessions at Dr Eduard's, I change to the Slim Beauty knot and the Orvis Knot for my leader construction. Please share your view of the Great Singapore Leader here. ;D Cheers Qwek

Hi Q, I learnt the same method from Henry when I first started fly fishing.
It works well for smaller fishes but when its comes to large monsters such as those gangsters from Edward's pond, forget it.
My first couple of trips at Edward's, those gangsters busted me off many times at the loop to loop connection.
The normal knotted tapered leaders works well but you have to ensure that your blood knots are well tied. I going to have to learn the slim beauty knot that you recommended. I think that is a much better bet.
regards Alberto

Hi folks, The bimini twist leader version is popular up north too. Happened to go thru the old Orvis flyfishing catalog and found that they have been selling this leader since the early 90s. Orvis still sell this leader as the Pre-Tied Bimini Tippet; www.orvis.com/store/product_choice.asp?pf_id=813X&dir_id=758&group_id=10660&cat_id=5134&subcat_id=6018&feature_id=18Here's a picture of the leader: It good to keep the old flyfishing catalogs, I keep them for the fly patterns. You will notice that some of the old patterns have been left out recently but are great to tie and fish too. Cheers Qwek
