Hi Guys , Today we have the honour of a forum visit from rodmaker Mike Clark and his wonderfully cheerful apprentice Kathy! ;D ;D...WELCOME MIKE AND KATHY!! Brothers..I know with Billy fully occupied due to a flu attack ( get well soon buddy) and FC diggin worms and dusting off tackle, the forum is rather quiet... but do post as many local catch pics as possible as many visitors are curious about our local catches ... BT with your permission, kindly allow Mike & Kathy ( royalwulff) access to the 'Secret Spot' Section and grant them the relevant avatar .. Thanks! For those unfamiliar with Mike & Kathy, well... they are the famous custom bamboo rodmakers and friends of fishing writers John Gierach and AK Best. Both of them are great flyfishermen too! Let us hope that we can see some of their custom rods and receive some advice regarding restorations/rodcrafting from time to time Again, enjoy your visits here Mike and Kathy ... and as I said, do inform us if you should visit Singapore as all of us welcome fellow flyfishers with open arms Cheers Kuan Chee Yung (CY)

Rare guests indeed!
Welcom Mike & Kathy! Singapore may be a long way from any trout streams, but I assure you that there are no lack of passion for fly fishing. You may also be surprised by the number of Bamboo fly rod fishers here....
Enjoy your visits and please let us know how we can make your visits more pleasent.
{PS : Thanks for the signed copy of JG's book.}

Thank you to CY, BillyTeo, and all for your warm welcome! No, CY, you didn't frighten us away. It's just been very busy here. Tourist season is just about over, which is okay because Mike has already got his limit from the herd! We have received many new custom orders this year pushing out the lead time. There is a bit of time left in the dry fly season and then with the tourists gone, we will be able to get more work done. Mike leaves next week for his annual trip with Gierach and Best. I'll be able to get a lot of work done with the boss out of my hair! I'm just learning your Forum so I will try to post some pictures of Colorado Trout. Please be patient, however suggestions are welcome! Again, we thank you for your kind welcome and hope to chat quite a bit. Kathy & Mike
BTW: I am a Cat fanatic. My husband brought me a reproduction of the Mer Lion in your harbor, made out of pewter, from one of his many trips to your beautiful country.

Hi Kathy! Funny how only the two of us are here at this ungodly hour ( 5.30am) but as every serious angler here says, this is the fishing hour Yes, we will wait patiently and happily for your posts... very much like the wonderfully exciting wait for a southcreek rod ;D ;D.. thanks for posting the beautiful catch pic Well.. a cat and cane fanatic huh? You're at the right place Kathy 'cause only in this part of the world does 'Hello Kitty' cause a riot that makes the headline news! Do also post the fun picture of your cat memorabilia collection (with your cane of course ;D) so that I can gladly send you some of the wonderful cat stuff found here.... BTW my daughter Ashley is also a cat lover Take care and enjoy the last weeks of the trout season Cheers CY

Hi CY, Yes, I have quite a collection of cat memorabilia, almost 800 pieces. Unfortunately, not as many cane rods; I have 3 South Creek Ltd. rods (7' 3 pc 4w, 7'6" 3 pc 4w, and 8' 3 pc 5w) and 1 John Bradford Legacy 7'6" 2 pc 5w. I do also have a Thomas & Thomas Paradigm Graphite (argh! don't tell my boss!). I have a 5w Peerless reel, a 3/4w Carpenter & Casey, and a 3/4w South Creek Ltd. reel. I will post just a few pictures from my cat collection as requested, but I'm sure the guys here are more interested in Cane and Colorado Trout! This is just one of the cats my husband found for me in your beautiful country. By the way, hello to Jeff Hatton from Colorado through Singapore! It was nice seeing you at the Denver Fly Fishing Show. Kathy
