Being a cane & cat collector, I thought you should see the Vice President of South Creek Ltd., actually, the Vice President of Rodent Control. This is Miss Rags The Rotten patrolling the bamboo to keep it safe.

Hi Kathy, The monsters that roam my home ;D This one is the youngest of the lot - 2 years old Seal Bi color Ragdoll named Shiraz. Another two ragdolls. The one at the back is Scooter, he is the greediest of the lot, does not know when to stop. The one in front is Sparky, a real "gentleman" and very loving. This one is Scooby and a ragdoll as well. He diabolical and too smart for his own good at times. This is grand dame of the house! A feisty old battle axe that is 14 years old. regards Alberto

... wow! Good to see real feline experts here ... It is nice to know the breed of cats... I only know Siamese, Persian and Kucinta Cheers CY Hi CY, My wife is the real expert here. Most of them except the old battle axe are show cats imported for Australia and New Zealand. With the exception of the youngest one, the rest of the ragdolls are all Grand Premiers ;D And that the reason why I missed the last picnic at WH. There was a cat show on that Sun and I can leave my wife to handle 4 of them. But I shall not miss the comming one! See you there. regards Alberto

Alberto, Your "monsters" are gorgeous and look like they are absolutely loveable! Congratulations on their Grand Premier status. What an honor and achievement. All of my cats are rescues and mixed breeds, but I visit many Cat Shows and I recognize how much work and traveling you and your wife must do to achieve Grand Premiers. Is the Grand Dame a Japanese Bobtail? She is beautiful, as well. Here are my "children"! Shooter, male, 15 years old. Miss Q.B, female, 14 years old. Ebony Lou Harris, female, age unknown, has lived with us for 8 years Clarice, female, age unknown, has lived with us for 5 years. She was feral when we trapped her and all of her kittens. Thank you for sharing the pictures of your Ragdolls and for letting me know there is another Fly Fishing Cat Fanatic! There are/were many famous one's before us; Hemmingway, Clark, Gierach, Bradford, and Wagner just to name a few! Best regards, Kathy

Dear Kathy, Thanks for the wonderful comments and your cats are beautiful as well (especially Shooter with his blue eyes and clarice ) My wife and I have always grown up with pets (cats, dogs, fishes) during our childhood and can imagine our lives with them. The cat show circuit is different here in Singapore as we have only about 2-4 CFA sanctioned cat shows a year so it took a long time for our cats to reach Grand Premier Status. The only thing that my wife don't share with me is a passion for fishing in any form with kind regards Alberto

Thank you, Alberto! I am sorry to impose on the Fly Fishing Forum with Cat questions, but I'm always trying to learn more about my other passion! Are you also registered with TICA? The International Cat Association. Are the diseases FIV and FeLV a problem in Singapore? Is your beautiful white cat a Japanese Bobtail? Your photo reminds me of this classic picture If you think it's better that we talk "cats" offline out of respect for the forum, I would be glad to oblige. Kathy =^..^=

Hi Kathy, Please do not apologise. Maybe we can keep this as a kitty thread instead. I'm sure CY and the rest would not mind. We are members of the Singapore Cat Club and the Feline Fanciers Association (both affliated with CFA). So I'm quite sure that we are not registered with TICA. With regards to FIV and FeLV, all I know is that all our cats are innoculated so that they dont catch it. I'm not too sure if its a problem in Singapore or not. I'm quite sure Snow is not a Japanese Bobtail. My wife told me she pick her up from a drain at a wet market near our home and she is just a couple of days old. Snow does not act like a pet all these years. She is not the affectionate type and does not like company at all. Just to pet her you first have to dodge her claws and growls. She comes and go as she likes and at times disappears for days on end, returing all dirty and sometime injured from skirmishes. We actually, when she was younger put a heavy rubber ball attached to a plastic chain and attached it to her collar so that, while she has the freedom to roam the entire house, can't jump over the fence to roam the neighbourhood. Is almost like a ball and chain on a prisoner. ;D She has mellowed down a lot these pass two years and I think age has indeed caught up. She now sits next to you quitely, purring away and no growls when you stroke her. Here is another shot of her snoozing away ;D That Japanese sketch of your is indeed a classic and if I'm not wrong, no other asian society loves cats more than the Japanese do. regards Alberto
