You're right CY. Bring only what you can keep you eyes on. Don't get me wrong. But these Block Party goers are all very "chor-kar-chor-chiu" (rough-hand-rough-leg). They may break one of the the delicate tips.
I don't know if I was too sensitive or observant. I always observed those guys whom I showed the bamboo to, they have a tendency to test the tip with their thumb and fingers to see if it will break. Many times I have to very fast and very diplomatically "snatch" the rod from their bending fingers before it snapped.
So CY, just bring a few where you can look after them.
I'll bring my 6-footer midge. Got extra tip.

Bring them all, CY. But you can displays them with the reels attached and the rods lays out UN-assembled like pix #3. I may have a way to display them so that it is a bit out of reach for on-looker to pick any boo up.
Cheers Qwek

Thanks BT for bringing your midge and Qwek for your assurance Having those reels/lines attached would mean a collection worth $XXK .... Maybe I'll bring most for our FFSG BOBs 'casting fun' early on and lock em up when the less appreciative layman arrives ...sad but necessary I suppose. Looking forward to lay my grubby fingers on more cane from you guys ;D... somebody bringing 'water' to dilute the poison? Cheers CY

Hi CY,
I don't mind rigging my SB boo for them to caress ;D I think it can handle the manhandling than IMX's meimei ;D
Cheers Qwek

Hi guys, I have no problem brining the #6 South Bend. It's so heavy that it might turn people off using Boos regards Alberto

Thanks for your support Alberto Frankly I would not be surprised if paired with a heavy reel like Michelle's gold Abel, your SB will excel in casting big poping bugs Cant wait to try the SBs ;D Okay, will bring the 'lighter' hollowbuilts and cane ferulled rods and keep the Brooks n McDowell at home since Ashley is not coming this round n Alberto is not partial to the McD. It'll be great if uncle can bring some bamboo pole/strip samples as well as a block plane as part of the static display....hehehe.... must ask him to keep the cane cleavers away from clumsy me tho ;D. Will plonk the shorter n more delicate Granger, Zumbrun and Leonard Fairy there as suggested by Qwek. Will need white table cloth or mahjong paper for the displays.... anybody bringing these stuff? Will also need lots of racks to ensure our wands ( including graphites) are kept nicely and not left lying around... BTW, it will get dark very quickly after 6pm and we need to do the casting part early and move on into the displays later. Appreciate your thoughts on that guys . Sorry I may be talking nonsense as I have not seen how the venue looks like... Cheers CY

Hi guys, Since Qwek is away on a business trip and will only be back on Monday, I suggest we have a meeting/briefing session no later than 13th Dec, Wednesday evening so that we know what to expect.
The best place would be Beach Road.
regards Alberto.

Sorry I can't attend any meeting as I will be flying off this evening and only return on the very day @ 0700 hrs at the airport. To CY's suggestion, I will bring raw boo strips, planed strips of boo as well as a bined sections (6 strips bined by string but not yet glued) together with block form for the display. No tools tough as we never know which itchy hand might have a go with it and cut his finger then lay a claim on us. See you guys on the 16th

Hi Folks, I'll be on the other side of the world from 14th Dec. Will only be back on Christmas Eve (Hopefully....). So I'll have to give this round a miss. All the best with the Road Show!
