Huns san, btw, this plant look like Pakalolo Hi Qwek,This tree is known here as Momiji, one of the Japanese Red Maple Tree, a family of the Maple. During the Fall season, the leaves will turn yellow, gold & red and it's known as the Autumn Collection! I am not sure if it is the Pakalolo. Hi Bluecod,Yup, got me-self another pair of the CROCS sandal, purple in color, over here in Japan. They are just great for fishing! You are right, this is so different from the GT........ but I did put/push my SCL rod to the limit on this trip. That will be in Part 2. Keep warm my friend! Hi Jimmy and Poisonmaster,A-no ne, this SCL the velly good-do! Me catch many many fish-o with this rod-do! Honto ni Subarashi sao desu! Hi Alberto,If you by any chance do come by this way again, I will bring you for a Quickie rod bending with the pretty trouts here! Hi mtshark,Yup, nothing like catching trouts on dry flies......... I will post as fast as I can for the next report. Just let me know when you have sent it out and I will do my best. I am targeting November for my next home visit........ will see you guys then......... and Thanks. Happy fishing, Huns.

Continuation of............ Summer SeasonThe next following day early morning, we set out our journey for the next river on the list was Matsukawa in Miyagikawasaki, about 80km away from the Spa Resort. Driving along the route, passed by many orchards of Apple and Wall-nut trees. Come October, the apples would be ripe and the picture would be more beautiful with the shades of red. Met an elderly folk by the riverside and paid my usual Japanese greetings to wards him. We started chatting about the fishes in the stream and he asked me where I'm from. I should have just told him I'm from Saitama Prefecture but instead, told him from the "Red Dot Island" on the world map, Singapore. The old man looked at me and said, " That's very far away from here!" I just nod my head and asked him if he have heard of Singapore. He replied yes and said, "it's somewhere in CHINA!?" Had to explain to him where Singapore is by mentioning Malaysia as our neighbor and now he thought Singapore is somewhere in the MIDDLE EAST! He must be getting old........... Tried my very best to cut short of the conversation with him by telling him Singapore is within South East Asia and changed the subject to the fishes in the river......... phew! Quickly got my SCL and Bauer M.5 rigged up, tied a CDC Yellow Sally onto my 6lb Vanish tippet and haul the fly forward. Within seconds, a Rainbow trout splashed at my fly and I got it connected. As I scan the water with my Revo polarized sunglass, realized there were a few species of trouts in the river. Achieving a "Grand Slam" by catching a Brown, a Rainbow, a Brookie and a Yamame during the course of a fishing day is possible! And that was what I did! Landed all the four trouts but I didn't have the photos of the Brookie to show here. It jumped out of my hands before my wife could take a shot at it....... sigh. This is a adult size Yamame taken on a CDC Yellow Sally dry fly. Another adult size Yamame. This is a Brown caught on a Dying Caddis dry fly. A Rainbow trout. This trout has a very peculiar body pattern of a Yamame and a Rainbow. This bruiser made my day...... 8lbs! Took my Dying Caddis dry fly very gently but shoot off like a south bound express train the moment it felt my strike. The SCL and M.5 reel performed wonderfully with the drag screaming...... music to my ears....... that almost always satisfies me! This Brownie was lazy lying by the rock! This Brown has some of the body pattern of a Yamame. While I was busy landing trout after trout, this green creature was just a few feet away from me........ resting. ............ till I caught his attention! The beautiful Matsukawa River. That ends my Summer fly fishing vacation from the north of Japan. Happy fishing, Huns.

Dear Hun San, I'm writing from SGH's Cardiac ICU. We have a patient named Alberto who suffered a heart attack after seeing your catch pics in this thread. He now hooked up to the respirator, staring blankly at the ceiling, drool trickling out from the corner of his mouth, hand twitching uncontrollably and mumbling "Huns promised to take me fishing!" over and over like a broken record. The resident cardiologist who is in charge of his treatment strongly recommends that Alberto be sent to Tokyo for further treatment regards Senior ICU Misi

This is Hun "Sin Say" reply :
After analyzing the medical reports of Alberto and Mtshark, the results do show some disturbing signs and symptoms of the deficiency in " Efishiency Trout Syndrome".
So, here are the immediate medical treatment and prescriptions for the two,
Practice the art of Fly Casting every morning before meals( that would be Breakfast) for 30 mins, preferably on 3wt fly outfit.
Practice Dry Fly tying every evening after meals( that would be Dinner) for 30 mins, minimum 2 fly patterns per session.
This prescriptions should last for a period of 3 weeks, however, prolonging these practices for longer duration would do wonders to the souls' recuperation BUT the ultimate cure for this syndrome would be " Go catch a Trout"!
For a lethal concoction on Dry Fly for trouts, please check out the "Fly Tying & Fly Patterns" section of this forum.
Good day and happy fishing,
Huns.

Dear Hun Sin Say, I just got discharged from the ICU. Thank you very much for your prescription. I will follow it to the letter. I'm going home to pack my stuff and camp out at Jason or Market place. They occassionally stock trouts (on ice). Its going to be very difficult to get them on dry or wet flies but then again nothing is impossible if you put you mind to it Ed, which spot you prefer? Jason or Market Place? Let me know regards Alberto ps Huns - your CR and pics is AWESOME! Thanks
