CR 20050625/30 & 20050701 The weather is getting pretty scourging lately. Somehow, the fish may be feeling it too. Maybe because that Huns is back home and he brought that 'SUN' along too! Just kidding hor. I am not going to write much here but for the past few trips, I really enjoyed myself very much. During the last 3 trips, Nick (tarponboi), Russel (Lance), kokliang , Jeremy Koh, David (nymph) and I really had some fun hitting the water. As for today, I did some flyfishing and some lure fishing too. I was testing out my spinnerbaits and landed a few and missed quite a numbers too. Other than spinnerbaits, lures too. The spinnerbaits were fun. It reminded me how I catch largemouth bass back in USA. Afterall, the best thing about fishing with friends is the companionship and the fun we shared. Let's hit the water again, soon!

On the 6 July, nymph and I went to explore new water. We are very surprised that this place is so clean and nice! The water is crystal clear and the reflection of the sunlight creates a mysterious aura just above the water. As if the water surface has a gold trim... (no pictures to show as my camera didnt capture that trim above the water... ) We scouted the whole area and saw no signs of large predators. Even small fish are hard to spot. We thought why and decided not to set up our 'zeros'. Although we didnt get to fish, but our eyes had a great feast of the beautiful environment that we were in. One day if time permits, we would come back to scout the place again during a different time of the day.

CR 20050710 On 20050709 night, the 'sleepless' monster haunted nymph, kokliang and myself. Thus we decided to gear up for some night fishing at 'super secret spot' (sound familiar?). Upon arriving at the 'super secret spot' at midnight 20050710 - 0000hrs, the three of us started gearing up with harmony. Suddenly, (less than 5minutes upon deployment) 'hunger' striked us like never before. All of us agreed to go for supper before fishing right beside the water. mtshark's believe it or not! Indeed, we went for supper. In less than 20 minutes after deserting our 'operation', we had hot and steamy mee goreng, mee hong kong and hor fun with teh ginger and kopi too. We ate like wolves..... ;D After filling up our stomachs, we proceeded back to the 'super secret spot' and carried out 'hell's lures' operation. For nymph, he had two different objectives. Firstly, 'hell's flies' (compliment of mtshark ) and then he would proceed to 'rendezvous point' to join 'hell's lures' operation. The silent of the night was broken not by us but by 'hundreds of raging horses'. We hid in the shadow of trees and kept watch. These 'horses' were scary! They hissed like snakes and roared like 'lions'. We carried out our operation aftering seeing that these 'horses' had no threat to us. In less than 5 minutes, kokliang and I heard loud explosion on the surface of the water. We heard nymph signaling. We quickly moved into position to back up nymph. As we reached him, we witnessed yet another loud explosion on the surface of the water. Both explosion didnt result any success. Nymph reported that his fly line floated into the air and slapped his rod mercilessly. Just before all the slack went out, the fly line went limp. We could see that nymph was in shock. From then on, 'hell's flies' went quiet and was aborted too. 'Hell's lures' aint doing too well too. Kokliang had numberous hits but his luck just wasnt there. Several intensive strikes without hookups, fish got away at shore. The night was so dark that we didnt even get to see what fish got the lures. Kokliang's trophies were a couple of 'zebras'. For me, I think I would be considered the lucky one. I landed a 4.5lbs belida and a 'zebra' too. The belida is my first!!! Alright, the lure from hell for the night is RIO Prawn. Skeptical? Kokliang landed 'japs' and 'zebras' with it too. ;D

CR 20050711 I happened to pass by Bishan Park and had a little time, nymph and I decided to give this place a try. I caught two little fish with my size 14 micro charlie and had countless hits by those little fries. I spotted some other bigger ones but they are just too smart and some cant even be bothered with my fly.

CR 20050713 With a little luck, we had slightly longer time for some good fun. We played lures and flies. The peacock basses were so 'eager and willing'*. Kokliang, nymph and I had so much fun. Total number of fish landed was given a miss and I didnt even have time to take photos at certain time when the pbs were in a frenzy. Just for the day, we estimated about close to 40-50 peacocks. Nymph's first cast landed two peacock basses!!! Before I could take a shot of the 'accident', one of them got off the treble back into the water. We even saw two rainbows, one right above the other. I wanted very much to take a shot at the beautiful rainbows but the rain drops were too heavy for my camera to handle. What a waste! Kokliang's cocky. He was spinning fly with his newly built noodle rod (a 3/4 fly blanks, 4 pieces 9ft) and in pitch darkness he had this one. Lucky dude! These zebras never missed a chance to hit our lures! Mine, with a flash clouser with my zero. This one is tough and 'bee hoon-ed' my Abel TR Light with its runs. Super big mouth.... kekeke ;D
