Yesterday, was the day Bluecod was waiting for, for me to bring him to the GT pond! I went and meet Hun for breakfast at the prata shop at Casuarina Rd and heads down to Orchard Road, Phoenix Hotel to pick Bluecod and his wife Caroline. The moment I turned out from Cainhill in the Orchard Road , I could see the anxiousness of a beaded man and his wife waiting for me. They had to cramp into my little flymobile and we headed towards SLE to the pond in Neo Tew. ... Upon reaching there, I immediately pass Bluecod his brand new Wayfarer 8wt, he bought from Reuben and we geared up and started fishing at the platform. After a few strip Hun got al hook up and I quickly reel in my line and gave way for him to fight the fish. Bluecod , his wife Carol and myself looked in wonder is this fellow going to break his G-Loomis 8wt rod? At one stage when the fished dived under the plaform , Hun just yank his rod to a upside down U ! Really gave his rod the works! Finally after about 10 mins, our friend landed the fish It was a goodsize GT After a few cast its was my turn, when it landed, it was a permit and the Dr advised me not to bring up the fish for a picture as it will die easily. Then opposite the platform it was Hun again and again. Continuously he caught a tarpon. a few big GTs and a nice Grunter. While George and myself got about 5-6 hook ups but did not manage to land due to, breakage of leaders when the fish runs to the pump and we had a few flyhooks straighten. Between the hookups we also had a session in form of showers of Blessing to cool us down.! ;D ;D ;D Bluecod had his fun of fighting the bandits for a few mins despite not landing them. Later we just watch his hands and knees trembles! ;D ;D ;D Sorry Qwek! I lost a few of your wonderful flies! Alberto, your sotong candy works very well too but also lost it!

Thx Jimboz for the CR.. 2nd Pic - seems like the GT gave our warrior a good fight! .. from the rod's C-arc,.. Great rod control!..2 Thumbs up for Huns!! ...we had a few flyhooks straighten. Alberto, your sotong candy works very well too but also lost it! on hooks for the playground..imho.. fine gauged quality carbon hooks are ok. Not flimsy hooks cos' they bent/break when we pull hard on the fishes to control it within the confined play-area. successful hooks i used at the playground: Inexpensive Mustad Soi series, but the point is rather brittle & can break if not careful while de-barbing. Mustad saltwater series SS hooks - Long shank O shaughnessy. personal favorite - Owner Aji series, fine gauge, very well tempered to prevent breakage & beautiful cutting edge. knot-to-hook: i add a split ring to the hook eye, tie a fixed knot from the leader to the split ring. This retain the free & nice swim action of the fly used. Tying the leader loop to hook eye has caused me some leader breakage at the loop-hook eye area. others input?.. rgds

Hi folks,
Finally had my appointment with the good doctor yesterday in the late afternoon. Not like your regular session. Look like the red pills are loosing it effects ad with the milky running around the therapists are distracted and are ingoring us. Only three hookups and none landed, of whicj two broke the bite tippet and one threw the hook.
Think I go for the morning seesion next time.
Cheers Qwek

Hi guys, Was jus wondering if anyone is organising a trip to the mentioned pond. I got back from O/S studying and will be returning soon. Wanted to check out the pond with a fren but he had to go for his ranger course. And from wat i understand the min. booking is four persons. And do ya have to cast pretty well to fish there? Must agree that my casting is pretty F***ed up. Haa .. I believe an eight weight is enough? To put it in simple terms, would be glad if someone who has exp in fishing in this pond to kinda guide mi. (No guiding fees will be paid but kopi on mi .... ) CHeers, Kahleong

Big thanks go out to Jimboz and Hun for a great time at the playground and for showing us a great time whilst in Sg and to all the fellas at Coho for putting together some great gear for me at short notice ;D ;D ;D. Those Gt's in the pond are real mean mothers and a stripping glove is paramount if you don't want your flyline to cut to the bone [only took two weeks to heal ]. Just flew in to Sydney this morning after our little trip and I've got to admit after going to Morocco, Britain, France, Italy and Thailand - Singapore was a real highlight. Thailand [Koh Samui] was a real bummer fish-wise - nothing worth catching during my stay there - average fish size spotted were smaller than the flies I was using . After the treatment Hun was handing out to his flyrod [see Jimboz' photos] I hope it is still intact Cheers, George

Groan Its been two days since my appointment with the good doctor and my body is still sore from that morning session. This is the diagnosis of the good doctor; Neuropathic pain1) Mechanisms* Related to spontaneous activity of sensory axons - Lifting and puming action of the forearms. * Elicited when sensory axons or cell bodies are damaged -Loss of feeling to fingers and thumb from extensive vice like grip of the rod handle. 2) Not related to damage in innervated tissue: Occurs without an inflammatory reaction Related disorder: NeuromaSensation qualities * C-axon damage: Burning - Facial damages as one burned up with rage up as the GT dive into the structures. * A? axon damage - Nerves damage as excessive pressure is used to grip the rod causing numbing sensation to the hands. * Paresthesias: Abnormal, non painful sensation; Pins & Needles - a sensation of tingling, pricking, or numbness of a person's skin with no apparent long-term physical effect: In Cookiemunster own term; "Better Than Sex!"* Dysesthesias: Abnormal unpleasant, not necessarily painful sensation - Suffering from anguishing, loss of fish to structure or burst leader and straightened hook!. 3) Pain* Shock-like, shooting pain - Your hand get whipped by the flyline shooting thru the guides as the GT made a run for it. * Pain precipitants: May occur spontaneously or with stimulus - Same feeling as shellshocked as you stood there looking at the limped line dangling from your rod. Temporal* Continuous or Episodic - Patient feel a need to come back for more GT whipping * Often chronic and difficult to treat - Strange desire to tie more flies * Associated with sensitization: Both central & peripheral mechanisms - Better Than Sex!Well that what the good doctor explained to me, now I have to wait for the catscans to come back. Will post the damaging pictures soon. Fellow sufferers are welcome to post them as well. Think we need to form a support group - GTritis! Cheers Qwek
