Hi Folks, The original plan was to have breakfast at the cake shop but was warned that there might be too many cooks making a mess at the premises. So a change of plans to another location proved to be the end of my PaK Kor Diet for the pass two weeks. Thank God,my journey can continue... The highlights The session started off with a small PB which was quickly released. I changed my fly to a large black and white, gold accents clouser. First cast over a weed bed and stripped it over ... bang, the clouser was clobbered and the fight was on. Once again the performance of the Jap Babe GoGo Yubari was exquite. Good size PB with a nice lump on the head Close up of the head Began working over the weed bed again and 10 minutes later, another PB clobbered the clouser and exciting 3 minutes of battling him ;D Still working hard over the same weed bed when the clouser was clobbered again. But somehow, the fight was different. There was this "jackhammering" of the rod tip and very strong deep runs. At this point, I had a hunch that its not a PB but a tilapia. Line started peeling of the reel as he ran amok all over the place. Soon, when I manage to retrive line back to the leader, I finally had a look and realise it a large zebra On ultralight tackle, the fishes are excellent game fishes ;D If the weather holds out, there might be another afternoon session cheers and tightlines Alberto

Hi there Alberto,
Great catch!
The bigger Peacock Bass seems to be hiding within the weeds.......... and I'm sure the fight is awesome on your Jap Babe!
Wait till you try your other Jap Babe, then you'll know what is "Subarashi desu ne!"
Happy fishing,
Huns.

Hi Guys, Its been quite a few week since I have been able to wet a line due to work pressure. Today trip is special as its my first foray into the ultralight arena I purchase a Sage 3100 about a month but still have not decided the rod yet. A good friend asked me to try out his TXL #00 The highlights The first PB of the day caught with a charlie. The TXL #00 may sound intimidating (Gosh, its the lightest line ever ) but infact, this rod will take on a light breeze and will cast fairly large files as well. This rod has some serious backbone as this PB was subdued in about 4-5 minutes During the session, there was numerous 2" babies taken and it was fun to see large PBs going after the smaller hooked ones. This lovely specimen was taken 10 minutes later was also subdued in bout 5 minutes. The butt on the #00 is also very strong (for its line class). If you ever hit a huge monster, you worry bout not having enough backing, cause this rod will not fail you ;D The TXL #00 in action. I have to admit that this rod is a lot stronger and stiffer than I thought. The idea that #00 would make small fishes feel like throphy size monster was not there. But nontheless, if one wants an ultralight (#00) and still be in control of the fish, this rod is worth concidering. Now, there is this #2 Jap Babe that I have been eyeing... regards Alberto
